Sarah was the first stranger of the day. As always I was nervous to start shooting but Sarah was an easy going person so I was able to relax. Spotted in Carboro.
After speaking with Carlos we figured out that we we’re both at the same party earlier in the week sharing a mutual friend. I knew I recognized him. He was the guy DJing the event. I guess we are strangers no more. Spotted in Old West Durham.
It was fun talking to Darbi. We were able to connect because she was a photographer as well. Cool fact about Darbi: She has been to the White House to photograph the Duke Men’s Basketball team. Spotted in Old West Durham.

As I strolled into one of the shops on my stranger journey I met Ellie. We talked for a bit and we realized we both liked Sudoku. I caught Carol looking over her shop. She was nice enough to take a break and let me take her portrait. Spotted in Old West Durham.

Pragnya like Sydney, was she was a Chapel Hill student as well. Spotted in Old West Durham.
I bumped into Sydney on my way to one of the shops in Old West Durham. She confided in me that she’s actually not a Duke student but a Chapel Hill student and maybe behind enemy lines as Duke University is just down the street from where we were. I confided in her that I was actually a NC State student and the same went for me. If you’re a Carolinian you would understand. Spotted in Old West Durham.
Really cool meeting Dejan. He is from Vienna, Austria and is currently studying at Duke. Meeting Dejan was cool because he is visiting/studying in my home town as I have once visited in his home town. Spotted in Old West Durham.
I caught Greg in the middle of a run. FYI he doesn’t go to NC State. Spotted in Raleigh, NC State Campus.
Logan is looking to get into photography as a hobby. She bumped into the right person I guess. Spotted in Raleigh, NC State Campus.

I’m glad I got Jenna’s portrait. She had a confused face on when I asked to take her portrait. But I promised that I wouldn’t take a bad shot. Spotted in Raleigh, NC State Campus.
Lexus was the first stranger of the day. I noticed Lexus’s hair first. She told me she had 3 exams for school next week so I didn’t hold her up for too long. Spotted in Raleigh, NC State Campus.
Kati like others were volunteering for the DPAC event. If you notice the DPAC is right behind here. By the way, nice earrings Kati. Spotted in Durham, Downtown.

I caught Jialei helping some people with the DPAC event going on. The holidays are a joyous time. Spotted in Durham, Downtown.

Yanara like Natalia is from Chile. I believe Yanara lives in Chile now and is just visiting. It’s cool to bump into people who are traveling. Maybe Yanara can look upon this project as a unique experience or memory for her time in the US. Spotted in Durham, Downtown.
Natalia was visiting the city of Durham coming from Burlington, NC. I spotted Natalia with Yanara who were checking out Durham for the first time. Spotted in Durham, Downtown.

Courtney like Rhianna was also a graduate. Her portrait came out quite nicely. If you notice the orange and red leaves are so bright they are reflecting. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Rhianna was hanging with Jordan and Courtney at the time I approached her. Like myself she was a recent grad. I told her I was a Wolfpacker and not to tell anyone on Duke’s campus… North Carolinians will understand. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Jordan had a camera in his hands and I believe he was testing it out at the time as I caught him taking pictures of the trees. The trees are definitely stunning at this time of year. I gave him a little advice not that I’m expert or anything but I left him a tip on how to get the trees to work with you. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Devonte was hanging around one of Duke’s basketball courts which I snuck into. He told me there was a good basketball sesh before I came in. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Jic told me he just finished up a run at the track. He wasn’t even exhausted. Must have been an easy run today. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Sofia was coming from the Gym. Sofia is on the basketball team at Duke but is a transfer student she told me. Since it’s her first year at Duke after transferring she can’t play with her team in Nashville this weekend among other games the rest of this season. I guess it’s not the end of the world though. At least she got a nice portrait. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Anna was painting the bench for her society. The yellow bench definitely pops and grabs your attention. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.

Jimmy doesn’t like pictures he told me. But like Jen I convinced Jimmy and I told him I would take a good shot or I would trash it. I think he has happy with the shot and agreed to be a part of the project. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Jen was the first stranger of the day. It took a little convincing but after I told her about why I am doing this project she decided to be a part of it. She said she needed to get ready aesthetically before the portrait but she was fine she just didn’t know it. Spotted in Durham, Duke campus.
Chris was waiting for the bus. I was able to grab his portrait just before the bus came. But just looking at his shirt he would have caught the bus ha ha. Spotted in Chapel Hill, UNC campus.
I approached Christian because of his hair. I like that hairstyle a lot. I had it at one point but as Christian might tell you it takes a lot to keep up. Spotted in Chapel Hill, UNC campus.
Like Kalya, Karli was painting for her acapella group on the message board behind her. You can barely see it on her left-hand side behind her but the painting was coming together nicely. Spotted in Chapel Hill, UNC campus.
